Finance Director / Head Accountant (Hospitality | Remote | Philippines)

We’re hiring a Finance Director / Head Accountant to lead the full finance function for a UK-based, multi-brand hotel group. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll take ownership of financial operations, reporting, and compliance across multiple entities.

This is a fully remote, Philippines-based opportunity with required overlap in EST hours, where you’ll collaborate with international stakeholders and support a dynamic, multi-site hospitality business.

Role Summary:

As the Finance Director / Head Accountant, you will oversee end-to-end financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight across all entities. You’ll lead core accounting functions, manage reporting cycles, and serve as the key finance partner to leadership.

You’ll play a critical role in strengthening financial processes, driving automation, and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards, while managing a distributed finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the full month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities
• Prepare and review P&L statements, ensuring accuracy and consistency across hotel brands
• Oversee UK VAT returns and ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements
• Manage accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting operations
• Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and financial plans
• Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations across entities
• Ensure adherence to UK accounting standards and financial regulations
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors as needed
• Identify and implement process improvements, including automation within Sage Online
• Lead and support finance team members in a remote working environment

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 6–10+ years of accounting experience in a senior or leadership role
• Strong experience in multi-entity accounting environments
• Mandatory experience with Sage Online
• In-depth knowledge of UK VAT and financial compliance
• Proven experience in the hospitality industry
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience working with international or outsourced finance teams
• Background in Big 4 or multinational companies
• Exposure to UK, AU, or US accounting standards
• Passion for process improvement and finance automation

Reporting Line and Working Pattern:

• Reports to: Executive Leadership / Ownership Group
• Fully remote, Philippines-based role
• Requires overlap with EST (US) working hours
