We’re hiring a Carrier Relationship Manager to manage and recover freight overpayments by working directly with national and global transportation carriers. This role plays a critical part in helping clients reduce shipping costs through post-payment audit recovery and claims resolution.

Role Summary:
As the Carrier Relationship Manager, you’ll manage the end-to-end lifecycle of freight invoicing claims and overpayment recoveries across an assigned portfolio of transportation carriers. You’ll act as the primary point of contact for carriers, driving resolution through relationship management, process navigation, and consistent follow-up.
You’ll be responsible for achieving individual recovery targets while ensuring accurate documentation, forecasting, and communication. This role blends commercial negotiation, operational discipline, and systems thinking to deliver strong financial outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong, win-win relationships with national and global transportation carriers to recover freight overpayments.
Independently manage a pipeline of invoicing claims, setting weekly and monthly priorities to meet or exceed recovery goals.
Act as the primary point of contact for carrier inquiries related to invoicing claims and settlements.
Research carrier contacts, billing processes, systems, and business priorities to accelerate claims resolution.
Monitor and manage assigned carrier accounts, including follow-ups, account adjustments, reconciliations, and credit memo processing.
Generate reminders and conduct proactive outreach to resolve unpaid balances and outstanding claims.
Ensure timely, accurate documentation of all carrier communications and collection activities within internal systems.
Provide weekly forecasts for monthly and quarterly settlements and recovery performance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and leadership on process improvements and special projects.
Drive operational discipline and continuous improvement in claims management and recovery workflows.
Must-Have Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in freight, transportation, or logistics roles requiring carrier or client relationship management.
Working knowledge of freight billing, logistics contracts, and transportation pricing (multi-modal experience preferred).
Proven B2B relationship management skills, including influencing external partners to achieve outcomes.
Strong process orientation with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
Effective time management and prioritization skills in a goal-driven environment.
Confident, persuasive communication style focused on achieving win-win resolutions.
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding performance targets.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ticketing, CRM, or service management tools preferred.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience in Accounts Receivable, freight audit and payment, transportation factoring, or carrier billing roles.
Familiarity with Jira Service Management or similar workflow tools.
Experience managing large carrier portfolios or complex claim pipelines.
Strong documentation habits and comfort working within structured processes.
