Freight Auditor (Remote | Philippines)

We’re hiring a Freight Auditor to support our client’s freight payables post-audit operations, help global shippers identify and recover overpayments across all modes of transportation. If you’re detail-oriented, analytical, and enjoy uncovering discrepancies, solving problems, and working with contracts and data, this role offers the opportunity to make a measurable financial impact while collaborating with international teams in a structured, process-driven environment. This is a fully remote, Cebu, Philippines-based opportunity, supporting global operations and working across time zones.

Role Summary:

As a Freight Auditor, you’ll be responsible for reviewing freight vendor invoices, validating shipment and billing details, and comparing them against customer contracts, tariffs, and rates. Your primary goal is to identify billing errors, file overcharge claims, and support claim resolution to recover overpayments for clients.

You’ll play a key role in supporting operational initiatives through accurate claims filing, collaboration with internal teams, and consistent audit performance. Over time, your work directly contributes to client savings and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret customer freight contracts, tariffs, and negotiated rates.

• Audit freight vendor invoices and payment data across multiple transportation modes.

• Identify billing discrepancies, including overcharges, contract errors, and duplicate payments.

• File and track overcharge claims and coordinate with internal teams to support resolution.

• Communicate audit findings and issues with relevant internal stakeholders.

• Support cross-functional teams in facilitating payment and recovery of claims.

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the audit function.

• Maintain accurate documentation and meet productivity and quality targets.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred).

• At least 3 years of experience in transportation (at a carrier or forwarder preferred) , freight billing, auditing, or pre-audit.

  • Logistics: 2 years (Preferred)

  • Freight Experience: 2 years (Preferred)

  • Data entry: 1 year (Preferred)

• Demonstrable knowledge of freight billing components, contracts, and rates.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex billing data.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams (training provided if needed).

• Strong written communication skills in English.

• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, carrier operations, or multi-client service environments.

• Strong understanding of freight invoices, billing terminology, contracts, and rates (freight class, tariffs, NMFC, discounts, accessorial, container/reference numbers).

• Knowledge of transportation modes including LTL, TL, Parcel, Intermodal, Air, Ocean, and Rail.

• Basic accounting knowledge applied to identifying billing discrepancies and overcharges.

• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a remote environment.

• Clear written communication skills for internal collaboration and documentation.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Teams, and Outlook, with the ability to quickly learn internal systems.
