Senior DevOps Engineer (Observability & Reliability Focus | Remote | Philippines)

We’re hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering across mission-critical environments ensuring our infrastructure runs smoothly, efficiently, and proactively. Role Summary: 

As a Senior DevOps Engineer (Observability & Reliability Focus), you’ll design and maintain end-to-end monitoring systems, create automated alerting pipelines, and lead incident response operations. 

 
You’ll collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to detect issues before they impact users driving lasting improvements to reliability and system health. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or SigNoz. 

• Build and optimize dashboards and metrics pipelines to provide real-time visibility into system health. 

• Develop automation scripts in Python, TypeScript, or Bash to reduce manual toil and improve operational efficiency. 

• Lead incident response and root cause analysis, documenting findings and implementing preventive measures. 

• Collaborate with Dev, Infra, and Ops teams to ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance. 

• Define and manage SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets, championing reliability engineering best practices. 

• Continuously improve observability tooling, processes, and workflows for proactive detection and faster recovery. 

Must-Have Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. 

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or IT Operations. 

• Strong expertise in monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, SigNoz). 

• Advanced scripting and automation skills (Python, TypeScript, Bash). 

• Experience leading incident management and on-call response operations. 

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure. 

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure. 

Nice-to-Have Skills: 

• Experience in high-uptime or mission-critical environments. 

• Knowledge of reliability engineering practices (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets). 

• Familiarity with low-code automation tools for operational workflows. 

• Contributions to open-source observability or incident management projects. 

• Cloud certifications (AWS, GCP, or Azure). 

Reporting Line and Working Pattern: 

• Reports to: Head of Infrastructure or Engineering Manager 

• Fully remote, Philippines-based, collaborating with global teams. 

• Work schedule: US hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST). 

• Participation in on-call rotation for critical incidents.
