Product Data Analyst
Drive SaaS growth by turning product usage data into actionable insights. Analyze metrics, optimize adoption, and partner with product teams to boost engagement and retention.
Job Summary:
This is not a general data analyst or research-focused role. We are looking for someone with experience analyzing digital product usage, defining key metrics (e.g., DAU/WAU, retention, engagement), supporting A/B testing, and working with tools like Pendo, Amplitude, or Segment. Your work will directly influence roadmap prioritization, feature adoption, and customer engagement. Ideal candidates will have experience working in a SaaS or B2B tech environment and are comfortable collaborating with product managers and engineers on live digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Product Insights & Analytics
- Analyze user behavior across the product to uncover patterns, friction points, and opportunities.
- Define, track, and report on key product metrics (e.g., activation, retention, engagement).
- Perform deep-dive analyses on new feature adoption, A/B test results, and product experiments.
Data Modeling & Instrumentation
- Partner with engineers and product managers to define and validate tracking requirements (e.g., event naming, tagging plans).
- Ensure accurate data collection through tools like Segment, Pendo, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or GA.
- Monitor data quality and work with teams to resolve inconsistencies.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Translate business questions into structured analyses and communicate findings clearly.
- Create dashboards and self-serve tools to enable data access across teams.
- Work closely with product teams to embed insights into roadmap and feature decisions.
Strategic Decision Support
- Support product strategy with market benchmarking, customer segmentation, and cohort analyses.
- Help prioritize product opportunities based on quantitative impact and user need.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2+ years in a product analytics, business intelligence, or similar data role.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Javascript, and experience with analytics tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Pendo, Amplitude).
- Understanding of user lifecycle metrics and product analytics concepts.
- Strong communication skills — able to clearly explain complex findings to non-technical audiences.
Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with product analytics tools such as Pendo, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Segment is strongly preferred
- Experience in SaaS or B2B product environments.
- Familiarity with A/B testing design and interpretation.
- Exposure to event-based tracking tools (e.g., Segment, Snowplow, RudderStack).
- Comfortable working in agile environments and partnering with cross-functional teams.
